MINISTRY ASSISTANT (Children's Ministry) 

We are looking for two individuals to be a part of a vibrant, growing ministry as the Children's Ministry Assistants at our Langley Campus. Responsibilities include a variety of leadership, administrative and hands-on tasks including: Sunday and mid-week programming and development, volunteer team building and coordinating, and event planning. The successful candidate will love working with children of all ages as well as with teams of people to reach the goals of CLA Kids and the church as a whole. They will have a heart to see kids develop a faith that is all their own and to see each child experience Jesus at their individual age and stage of development. They will have the ability to communicate effectively with volunteers, children and parents alike. Qualifications: Minimum 2 years related ministry or clerical experience or the equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training. Food Safe Certificate and First Aid an asset.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY DIRECTOR (MATERNITY LEAVE)

Want to be part of a vibrant, growing ministry?  Do you have a passion for the church and children? Are you a person that can administrate as well as lead teams? We are currently seeking a Children’s Ministry Director to join our Children’s Ministry team at our Langley campus.  This is a maternity leave coverage and will last up to one year.  Training starts immediately.

This full-time role would be 35-40 hours per week, Sundays - Thursdays.  Responsibilities include providing leadership to the CLA Kids Staff, planning for weekly programs and annual events, supervising Sunday morning services, team building and other duties as required.  The candidate will have a heart for children as well as the vision and value of CLA Kids. They will be able to handle challenging situations with grace and a servant heart. They will also have the ability to communicate effectively with volunteers, parents and children alike.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a necessity.  

Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of office experience or an equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training. Managerial/supervisory experience in office or ministry setting would be an asset. First Aid Certificate and Food Safe Certificate would also be an asset.

Summer Postings

Elementary Summer Program Worker

CLA is seeking a Elementary Summer Program Worker to work with our Children’s Ministry Team to assist in leading our summer programs and annual VBS. The person in this role will work to help plan, lead and coordinate Sunday morning programs for children Grade 1-5 as well as assist with coordinating our annual VBS. The successful candidate must meet the following criteria:

  1. is between 18 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
  2. was registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year;
  3. intends to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year;
  4. is a student in a post-secondary, vocational or technical program;
  5. is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Actand;
  6. is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations

The Candidate should also be self-motivated, take initiative, and be an excellent team player.  In addition, the candidate should know Christ as their Lord and saviour and be excited and comfortable to work with kids of a variety of ages. Prior experience with kids, teaching, program coordinating and/or supervising volunteers is an asset but not required. This position is 30hrs per week and runs from the middle of May to end of July/beginning of August on Sundays through Thursdays and the occasional Friday.  It is primarily based at the Langley Campus. Youth Ministry Summer Intern

CLA is seeking a Summer Intern to work with our Youth Ministry Team. The person in this role will work alongside the youth staff to help plan, lead and coordinate weekly youth services, summer events, as well as our annual camp. This position is unique in that it has flexibility to give specific ministry opportunities upon discussion with candidate and oversight. The successful candidate must meet the following criteria:

  1. is between 18 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
  2. was registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year;
  3. intends to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year;
  4. is a student in a post-secondary, vocational or technical program;
  5. is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Actand;
  6. is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations

Bus Ministry Summer Intern

CLA is seeking to fill three Government Funded Summer Career Placement Positions to work with our Bus Ministry Team to assist in leading our summer outreach programs.  The successful candidates must meet the following criteria:

  1. is between 18 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
  2. was registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year;
  3. intends to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year;
  4. is a student in a post-secondary, vocational or technical program;
  5. is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Actand;
  6. is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations

The Candidates should also be self-motivated, take initiative, be an excellent team player, and be sensitive to the spirit of God. Prior experience with supervising volunteers is an asset but not required. This is a full time July to mid-August on Monday – Friday and is based at the Langley Campus.
