Missions 2020

0

This Sunday as we wrap up our Missions month, my heart has been stirred hearing from our global workers. It’s exciting to see the fruit of their work. It’s beautiful to see how God is using them in their unique ministries as they are able to use their gifting and passion in the spreading of the Gospel. God has given them wisdom in discerning new opportunities to expand kingdom work in their countries. Once again, the passion I’ve had for missions continues to amaze me. I hope this month, as you’ve heard about the amazing work our global workers have told us about, you have been inspired as well and stirred with passion to be involved in some way with global missions!

CityServe is missions at home! Mandy Martens has done amazing work overseeing the many components of this fantastic ministry.  This ministry provides opportunities to show love and kindness, and share the love of Christ to those in our own neighbourhood and community. There are also many opportunities in our community that our Life Groups have been involved with. For more information, you can find it in our Vision 2020 Missions Brochure. You can also contact CLA or go to guest services. This year, it would be so great to see CityServe expand to another level and see CLA passionate about serving at home!

This week, we are going to hear from three local church planters that have come from within our congregation here at CLA. We get to celebrate with Shane & Rachel Johnston with ‘Resonate Church’, Jason & Kelsey Eliason with ‘Citizens Church’ and Jason & Rachel Ballard with ‘The Way’. We will hear what the Lord has been doing in their lives.  Each of these couples has been obedient to the Vision that God has given them and they have stayed focussed on this calling. It’s wonderful that the path has been clearly set before them. Isn’t it awesome how the LORD directs our paths! As I reflect on all the amazing things we have heard globally, and right outside of our own church doors, I’m excited that God is going to do amazing things in the future.I love this verse: “For I am doing something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” -Isaiah 43:18

To date, we have raised $151,433.00 towards our February Missions Goal. Thank you CLA!
