‘Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.’ Psalm 107:1
When I begin to think about what the Lord is doing in people’s lives at Recovery Church, I cannot help but ‘give thanks to the Lord’ and declare that, ‘He is Good!’
A team of six people from Recovery Church recently returned from a trip to Cuba where they ministered at a Recovery Centre supported by CLA. The team scraped off old paint and re-painted the men’s dormitory, and gave hair-cuts to the men and manicures and pedicures to the women who serve at the center. The team also shared testimonies and ministered at a local church in Havana on 2 occasions. They were able to see first-hand the challenges the believers face in Cuba, however, the team’s impromptu worship sessions, their joy and hunger for the things of God were an incredible example of what it means to ‘walk by faith and not by sight.’ 2 Cor. 5:7
This last Sunday night at Recovery Church five people were baptized! Their stories all had a similar theme. At one time they were hopeless and turned to substances to medicate the pain and brokenness in their lives. Then someone introduced them to Jesus, and though their situations didn’t change, they now had hope and a reason to live!! Praise God!
On Wednesday, November 7 at 6pm at CLA, a government ministry called, ‘We All Play a R.O.L.E’ is putting on a seminar about the local overdose crisis. This seminar will explain how to practically care for someone who has overdosed (Naloxone Kit Training) as well as how to help someone you know who is dealing with a drug addiction, etc. If you are interested in attending this free seminar, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Lastly, I ask you, as a Church, to pray for souls to be saved at Recovery Church! ‘Lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are ripe for harvest.’ John 4:35. The hurting, the wounded, the broken are all around us. They are looking for truth and hope! We have the answer! His name is Jesus Christ!! He saves! He forgives! He restores! Please stand with us in faith as we believe for broken lives to be made whole, and for people to begin a personal relationship with Jesus Christ!!
