CLA Young Adults Update

I want to make an important announcement today. On Thursday night at Young Adults we were able to announce and present our new Young Adult Pastor. Since Pastor Jeremy King’s departure due to church planting in Vancouver, we’ve had a wonderful team giving leadership. I want to publicly thank Kendra Schmunk and Rhys Fowler for their excellent pastoral oversight for the summer of 2020. Their servanthood and love have been a huge blessing. In addition, Pastor Peter Yoon has been a very helpful in this transition. I appreciate the health of young adult leadership.

I’m excited to see how God has brought together today’s announcement. I am appointing a ministry couple to take up pastoral oversight for our Young Adults. Pastor Bryce and Pastor Rachelle Lefebvre have come to us with experience, in God’s timing and with humble acceptance of this great opportunity. They are embracing this opportunity as co-leaders, each working this portfolio with a full heart, but with part time hours (each working 20-22 hours). Pastor Bryce is also working with CLA in Communications and Pastor Rachelle is helping in Care Ministries (with Pastor Bill). This couple has a unique and complimentary gift set. Here is a little bit more about them.

Bryce grew up in Powell River, and attended Summit Pacific College for pastoral training. You may remember him as he served on staff at the Coquitlam campus of CLA. Following that time of ministry God called them into a new season of ministry at Oasis Church in Kamloops. I have followed their lives with keen interest all these years and recently they returned to the lower mainland and to CLA.

Rachelle grew up in Terrace B.C. and moved to Abbotsford to attend Summit Pacific College in 2012. Upon graduating with a degree in Pastoral Leadership in 2016, she served alongside Bryce at CLA Coquitlam. When in Kamloops Rachelle served as the Connections Pastor, leading First Impressions Teams and connecting people into the life of the Church.

The Lefebvre’s are passionate about helping people find their gifts and purpose in life, empowering young adults to make a difference in the world. Although this pandemic presents many challenges, they believe it is full of endless opportunities to give people hope and make Jesus known.

I am excited for this next season of ministry at CLA Young Adults. As Pastor Bryce and Pastor Rachelle take on these new roles, the current leadership on Thursday nights is very excited. They look forward to building on an excellent foundation. If you want to be in contact with them send an email: Pastor Bryce or Pastor Rachelle
