WHAT ARE ONLINE COMMUNITIES
Feeling the need for community? Please know that nobody needs to be alone during this season of self-isolation. For the foreseeable future, you can get connected with others from CLA in an online community. No matter where you live, you can drop into a virtual Life Group or Learning Communities. There, you can meet new friends, and meet up with some old friends.
Be encouraged and challenged to grow through the video teaching and discussions in an open and safe environment. Whatever you do, don’t be alone any longer.
Check back here from time to time to see what is new and coming up. We have different groups you can sign up for. You can participate in groups for men, women and a variety of seminars that are being facilitated by our team of leaders. You can also look into our ongoing Life Groups.
And if you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to Adriana Andrews via email or by calling the church office.
Sunday, June 7 | 7 PM
Does sharing your faith make you nervous? During this seminar we will come alongside you, so you are able to share your testimony in three minutes or less using the format:
- “What was your life like before you knew Jesus?”
- “How did you come to know Jesus as your Saviour?”
- “What is your life like now with Jesus?”
You will have the opportunity to practice sharing your testimony. We will also share ideas on how to go from talking about the weather with your neighbours, to talking about Jesus and sharing your testimony! We would love to have you join us!
Thursday Night Study: Psalm 23
by Matt Chandler
June 4-July 9, 2020 | 7 PM
Join Pastor Rob Bedard and others on Zoom as we dive into Psalm 23. Matt Chandler will lead us into this enriching six-week study (on Thursdays June 4, 11, 18, 25, July 2, 9 at 7:00-8:00 pm), on the world’s most beloved and famous psalm, Psalm 23. Because most people are familiar with it, they often breeze over the deeper messages of comfort and assurance this psalm brings. Come meet us with our Good Shepherd as He feeds us beside still waters.
Women's Bible Study: The Dream of You
June 3-24, 2020 | 10:30 AM
In this powerful 6-session Bible study based on her book, author and speaker Jo Saxton examines several biblical figures and shares her personal story as she invites you to turn to the One who knows you intimately and loves you deeply. He sees all you’ve struggled to hide. He hears the voice inside you that others have silenced. He knows the potential and purpose that no one valued. He longs to redeem the story of your life and set you on the path to reclaim The Dream of You.Are you ready?
Discover how to exchange an identity built on lies, guilt, and brokenness for your true child-of-God self.
Thrive Bible Study
Thursdays | 2 – 3 PM | June 4th – 25th
Are we living in the last days? Is the current pandemic part of that? What should our response be? Where do we fit as Pentecostal believers? God has a definitive role for us between now and when Christ returns. Let’s talk about it.
If you are interested in joining the June Thrive Seniors' Bible study Keith Parks as the speaker, please contact Arlene Trauter for more information.
Mondays at 7:20 - 9:30 PM
We have gone LIVE through the power of video conference calling and are meeting every Monday night, 7:20-9:30pm (except stat holidays).
Monday Night Men is a space where we walk alongside each other as teammates and learn how to become authentic men. Through worship, sharing, prayer, and God’s word we encourage each other and sharpen each other, as iron sharpens iron. You can email Andrew Meszaros for more information.
Why Life Groups?
Life Groups are becoming the best way for anyone in CLA to connect, grow and go deeper into a life that brings impact to our world.
Life and faith are not meant to be walked alone. Jesus modelled this and the Early Church that burst into life in the New Testament lived in this reality as well. And as early as the first chapters of Genesis we see that people were created for togetherness. All throughout scripture we see the family of God getting together, not just for weekend worship, but throughout the week in each other’s homes for meals, prayer, scripture, ministry, encouragement, help, care, evangelism, the list could go on and on! It is God and His Word that inspires us to prioritize Life Groups in CLA.
We have a variety of groups that meet all around the Lower Mainland at different times throughout the week. Each of our groups are unique, but all are focused on cultivating real community, growing spiritually, and reaching out in some way. In fact, Community + Growth + Mission make up the essential ingredients of a Life Group in CLA.
