If you sense God has poised you to lead others, whatever you do, don’t start there. Start with developing the leader in you. Until you can lead yourself, you will never successfully, or with any longevity, be able to lead others. Through this new training course at CLA, Pastor Rob Bedard will help you to “Develop the Leader In You” while also learning so much more about how leaders can best lead others.

Mondays, September 30 – November 4 at 6:30 PM | West Chapel
Cost: $30.00 (includes $25.00 StrengthsFinder Assessment)

Last year the Saturate event we held hosted 400 people from multiple churches, including 70 of our CLA staff and leaders. It was highly inspiring and very helpful. This year “Saturate CLA” is taking the best of what we learned last year and offering it only to our CLA family. Saturate CLA is for all who aspire to being disciples and missionaries in the everyday stuff of life. Learn practices and methodologies that are transferable and scalable to your lifestyle and mission field (neighbourhood, workplace, school). Our desire is to equip everyday people to move out into the world for God’s purposes outfitted with effective tools so that every person in the lower mainland could have an encounter with Jesus. If you have any questions about this event, please contact Adriana Andrews

Saturday September 28 at 9 AM - 4 PM | Conference Hall

Day Seminar for those over 50 held in the West Chapel

There’s a big wave of Baby Boomers in our churches. They’re going to change everything, just like they’ve changed everything throughout their lives. The older adults who are retiring have a lot of skill and capacity. With more attention to a healthy lifestyle, retirees are living longer, realizing their potential to create a legacy in the last third of life. Come learn about:
‣ Perspective – towards living more fully
‣ Hope – for living meaningfully in the present
‣ Guidance – renewed vocation, self-care and service
‣ Spiritual growth – towards thoughtful, maturing wholeness.

Keynote speakers: Dr. Paul Pearce, Director of CHAT, an organization with helping those nearing or in retirement to discover exceptional opportunities for this next chapter in their lives. Dr. Carson Pue, Executive Mentor and Coach helping others with intergenerational mentoring.

Saturday, November 23 | 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM | West Chapel
Cost: $30.00 (includes $25.00 StrengthsFinder Assessment)

Find out who we are and your place at CLA.

If you’ve been around Christian Life Assembly, even for a brief time, you have probably heard that we are together on mission as a church joining God in transforming our lives, neighbourhoods, nation and world. To accomplish our God-sized mission, we are calling all who call CLA their church home to Gather, Grow, Serve and Go.

What does that mean and how exactly do we hope to accomplish our mission? Join us in discovering what lies at the very heart of CLA and how you can get involved. Our Discovery course is a four-week course for newcomers, taught on a monthly rotation by CLA pastors who are passionate about helping CLA Gather, Grow, Serve and Go.

Our next four week session begins Sunday, October 6 at 11:30 AM | East Chapel.

ALPHA

Explore life, faith and meaning in a friendly, open and informal environment through a series of interactive sessions. All sessions start with food, because it’s a great way to connect, relax and build friendships. The talks are designed to be engaging and inspire conversation. But probably the most important part of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas about the talk without being corrected or judged. There’s no obligation to say anything; it’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective.

Our next Alpha nine week course begins Wednesday, January 22 at 6:30 PM.

Mid-week Classes

Community Bible Study for Women

This Fall we will start with the book of Genesis. The substance of Genesis lies in its timeless themes: God's mighty power and greatness, God's love for His creation and His grace toward fallen mankind. In its pages, human dignity and purpose, mankind's rebellion and judgment and forgiveness by means of a promised Redeemer are revealed at the very beginning of history - in the Garden of Eden. Though Noah's Flood wiped out one sinful generation, after the Flood, people still rejected God and built the Tower of Babel. God's redemptive plan continued to play out in the formation of the Hebrew nation. The lives of the Patriarchs are traced with the great stories of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph and the sojourn of the Hebrew nation in Egypt. The book of Genesis displays God's holiness and faithfulness, and His patient development of mankind's faith in a coming Messiah.
