Missions Month - February 2018
CLA’s 2018 Missions Month focus is AFRICA. This is the world’s least-developed continent with religious differences tearing at its social fabric. We specifically have a long relationship with PAOC workers in Zambia, Ethiopia, and Egypt.
Celebrate Africa with us with a variety of events throughout the month of February
Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Missions at CLA
As a church, we support over 40 combined global workers, projects and ministries per year. Our vision is to reach beyond the walls of our church and make an impact on our world in practical and spiritual ways.
Ways that we serve
Missions is simply that, a mission to show God's love to the world. Showing that love can look different in every culture and situation, and in every unique need. Some ways that we serve our local community and countries around the world is to:
- Look after the poor, orphans, people in crisis, widows (James 1:27).
- Help with the support of pastors and global workers at home and overseas.
- Help train leaders and pastors to go into their own communities to win people to Christ through relationship (also supply Bibles, training courses, VBS programs for children, school supplies, etc.)
- Help with capital projects including building orphan houses, classrooms, churches, renovations, and water projects.
We have many different ministries and outreaches that are dedicated to reaching groups of people all over our city and region. This includes CityServe, ESLC, Bus Ministry, and local outreach events that we hold throughout the year.
Short Term Missions
We not only support our global workers, but we send them! If you are interested in learning more about participating in short term missions, there may be a trip for you to join.
We support many Global Workers in various countries. Check out the next page to learn more.
