Experience Christmas At CLA

Join us for the four Sundays of Advent for our sermon series “Unexpected”. Our Langley Campus moves to one service at 10 am for December and part of January (till after our week of prayer). It will be wonderful to see everyone together and on December 10th our Kids will be featured in a special family service, can you say a “kodak moment”?This year we’ve moved our Christmas outreach from the tent into the breezeway and CLA Center. This family-friendly, neighbourhood-centered, nativity-focused story telling outreach will have some new elements this year. We will continue to welcome our friends and new Canadians to a non-threatening environment in order to greet them and tell them the origins of the Christmas story. We will continue to use hosts to guide the walking tour and have free refreshments. But this year the tours will leave every 20 minutes (between 6 pm and 9 pm) and in the main room (Theatre) we will not have to combat the elements of cold. We will also enjoy a kid’s craft in the last room along with some market craft tables who have come along to display Christmas gift ideas. I so appreciate the six tables who helped sponsor our event. The experience will be about 50 to 60 minutes in length. I encourage you to bring someone with you; a neighbour, work associate, someone new to our community or school friends. In a post-Christian Canada, it continues to be vital that we retell the Nativity story as so few Canadian know the story. Saturday, we need help building the set. Can you assist us? Would you begin to think about who you could invite to walk with you? The three nights will bring over a thousand people to see and experience Christ’s birth. Join us December 8, 9, and 10 from 6 pm to 9 pm. It’s going to be worth driving in for!By mid-December you’ll likely be in the full Christmas swing and looking for a break, for an evening of Christmas songs and worship. On December 15th, originally from Ireland, we are bringing in We Are Messengers. You can check them out on Spotify, if you listen to Praise 106.5 you’ll know their music. Tickets are $50 and you can pick them up online. I bought and reserved a row of 8 so our family could enjoy this evening together. Who might you invite?Christmas Eve is on a Sunday this year. Therefore, we’ve made some adjustments to the times of our Candlelight services. The morning service at 10 am will be one of our candlelight services. The other identical service will be at 4 pm. Please pick the one that best serves your family. It will be a special hour to initiate our Christmas Eve / Christmas Day remembrance.
