Word From The Pastor

God’s Faithfulness In and Through the Next Generation

At the time of writing this, it has been exactly 1 year since I began my fourth summer working at CLA as a Rev Youth Intern. I would never have guessed that in May 2026, I would be reflecting on a year of ministry as CLA’s Interim High School Pastor. What a year it has been!

Firstly, I want to thank you, CLA, for all of your encouragement and support over this past year. I have been a part of this church since I was born, and I consider it a joy and a privilege to help shepherd the youth ministry that meant so much to me when I was a teenager. To CLA parents and youth, thank you for receiving Pastor Katie and I with open arms and for entrusting us with the responsibility of shepherding the next generation.

The faithfulness of God in and through Rev cannot be overstated. Over the course of this year, I have watched God utilize several avenues of ministry to transform the lives of young people and shape them into Christ-like disciples who are passionate about worship, service, and outreach. Through Rev’s Plus One Night at the end of January, 45 young people gave/rededicated their lives to Jesus, and many have grown into regular Rev attendees who are actively pursuing discipleship.

During Spring Break, thanks to the efforts of Martin Tai, Craig Inman, and Souphone and Martha Phommaviset, Rev was able to send a team of thirteen students, four parents, two pastors, and one volunteer young adult leader on a short-term missions trip to Thailand to continue our partnership with the Imagine Thailand Foundation. Since coming home, all of the students have told me that God transformed their understanding of missions through this experience, and many of them have expressed interest in returning to serve in Thailand.

Currently, over 200 students are already signed up for Rev Camp, and our staff is praying over and preparing for what we believe will be another two weeks of life-changing ministry. August 2026 will mark my ninth year of being involved with Rev Camp, and every year, I have both experienced and witnessed God’s transforming power in and through camp ministry. Our prayer is that as many students as possible would have the opportunity to experience this as well.

In light of that, on behalf of Pastor Katie, Pastor Julia, and our ministry assistant Sam Stanley, I ask you, CLA, to please consider doing two things: 1) Pray for Rev Camp and all that goes into it. Pray over the youth, the staff, and the volunteers. Pray that the youth would encounter and be transformed by the presence of God. 2) Give generously toward Camp Support. For some youth, money is the only barrier that keeps them from experiencing Rev Camp, so we are calling on the church to help support those who need it. God is on the move in our youth, and your prayers and giving are just two of the ways that we as a church can partner with Him in shepherding this next generation.
