Word from the Pastor

Mornings With Her

I love what God has been doing and how His Spirit has been moving during our time together on Wednesday mornings! I warmly invite you to join us this season at “Mornings with HER”.

Throughout the Bible, God consistently leads His people in one direction: “Press on…look ahead…forget what lies behind…REACH FORWARD to what lies ahead” (Philippians 3:12-14). What a timely reminder in 2022!

Just as the Apostle Paul challenged the Philippian church to move forward, “HER Church”, the women’s ministry at CLA, exists to mobilize and encourage women of all ages to not only embrace the season of life that God has you in right now but also to keep moving forward. To keep reaching for all that lies ahead and all that HE has in store for you…

That is why I am so excited about the coming Spring season of Mornings with HER beginning with our annual “Spring Tea” this Wednesday morning at 9:15AM.  As we gather for community, worship, and learning from God’s Word, my heartfelt prayer is that together we encourage one another to be women who live and lead right where God has us.

That we encourage one another to keep “reaching forward” in our walk with Him.Here are a few things we have been learning as we’ve studied His Word at “Mornings with HER” this year:

First, we must know our identity in Christ. In order to be effective in our roles as moms, friends, co-workers etc., we must know who we are in Christ. This means believing in the potential God placed inside of us. Our identity in Christ allows us to lead in whatever sphere of influence we have been called to.

Second, we must remember our passion, purpose, and vision. We are all uniquely created with different interests and talents. On Wednesday mornings we see women who are teaching the Word, serving food, leading praise and worship, taking care of kids etc.  It’s beautiful to see the passions and giftings that God has placed inside each woman.

Third, we must be intentional with our influence. With every role comes the opportunity to lead by serving, encouraging, and pouring into people.  Jesus’ life is the ultimate example of servant leadership. Draw out the potential and purpose in those around you and let them shine. Be a loud encourager and a positive, godly influence in the lives of those around you.
