Word From The Pastor

Pentecost Sunday: Baptize Canada

Baptize Canada is a nationwide Christian movement uniting churches from coast to coast to coast for a synchronized day of water baptisms. Scheduled for Pentecost Sunday, May 24, 2026, this interdenominational initiative invites believers across Canada to publicly declare their faith in Jesus Christ simultaneously, creating a powerful collective testimony of renewal and unity. Pentecost Sunday has been picked because it represents the Birth of the Church of Jesus Christ: It marks the transition from Jesus’ earthly ministry to the mission of His followers. After the Holy Spirit came on Pentecost in Acts 2, the Apostle Peter preached a powerful sermon, and 3,000 people were baptized that day, launching the global Christian movement. This movement continues. The Holy Spirit continues to bring people to a conviction of sin, confession of Jesus as Savior and yielding to discipleship. Christians believe Pentecost represents the fulfillment of Jesus' promise to send a "Helper" or "Comforter." The Holy Spirit empowers believers with spiritual gifts, boldness, and wisdom to share the Gospel and serve others. Today is a testimony of that. Today demonstrates that the Gospel of Jesus is universal, meant to unite people of every tribe, tongue, nation, and denomination. Because water baptism symbolizes a person receiving new life through the Holy Spirit and joining the global family of believers, Pentecost Sunday is considered the perfect day to do this.

The Vision and Purpose
The core mission of Baptize Canada is to lower barriers for individuals ready to take the next step in their spiritual journey. By bringing together diverse congregations—including Pentecostal, Baptist, Alliance, and independent churches—the event shifts the focus from individual church walls to the broader Canadian Church. It serves as a public declaration of faith, a celebration of new life, and a visual reminder of spiritual unity across Canada's provinces and territories.
Last Year – over a thousand people participated in water baptisms in eight provinces, 32 cities and 53 churches. This year will be even bigger. Come and join us.

Water Baptism
Water baptism is a public declaration of a believer’s desire to follow Christ, it identifies them with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. Jesus set the example of water baptism in his own life and commanded his followers to do the same. Going down into the waters symbolizes death to sin and the old life and coming out of baptism symbolizes our resurrection to a new life and mission. This is a visual testimony to the church and world of our desire to follow Jesus. All campuses will be participating in our baptismal, we expect about 30 people to be baptized.
