CLA church family, I could think of nothing better to share with you in my final “Word from the Pastor” than to invite you into my prayer closet to overhear my heart cries in sadness as I leave the staff of CLA, yet in gladness that I remain with CLA:
Dear Heavenly Father, as I step away from pastoring in Christian Life Assembly after seven of some of my favourite ministry years, how can I begin to thank you for all you’ve done? Though difficult, let me try…
As I begin coaching, supporting and providing leadership training opportunities for the pastors, staff members, board members and volunteer leaders throughout the BC & Yukon District (BCYD) of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada, I thank you that Lorinda and I can continue to call CLA our church family. Thank you that CLA will remain where we will continue to GATHER, GROW, SERVE and GO!
Thank you, God, for CLA – my church that regularly GATHERS to passionately, ardently worship you. Also, thank you for a church deeply committed to minister to one another in prayer every time we GATHER together.
I thank you, God, for Pastor Derrick, and all our pastors, who work diligently and courageously to help us all GROW in faith and in Godliness by faithfully preaching and teaching God’s ways as spelled out in God’s Word.
As you have so graciously called me to serve the 180 BCYD churches, I sincerely thank you, God, every time Lorinda and I will return home, our wonderful Life Group friends will be here to spur us on to continue to GROW in knowing, loving, and serving Jesus, as well as all whom we live, work, worship, and play with.
Thank you, God, for the humbling honour to use the giftings you’ve given me to SERVE you and the BCYD. Also, thank you for the opportunity to continue to SERVE my church, CLA.
As I GO out from CLA, wherever I GO may your Presence and Power GO with me! As I GO out from CLA, wherever I GO to coach, support and provide leadership training opportunities for the pastors, staff, boards, and volunteer leaders across the BCYD, may I always remember this: While I GO as an ambassador of Jesus, I also GO as an ambassador of CLA!
