Word From The Pastor

The King Has Come

Every year around Christmas, we come back to familiar traditions - the songs we know by heart, the gatherings we look forward to, the recipes that remind us of our childhood. These traditions anchor us and help us remember what matters most. But this year at CLA, we also want to step into something new. With two performances on November 30th, “The King Has Come” marks a fresh initiative for our church: a Christmas celebration that tells the story of Jesus’ birth through creativity, music, and voices joined together.

At the center of this celebration is our choir - a 55-person group of all ages that has come together to sing songs of worship to the King. Very early on in my time at CLA, this has been something that’s been on my heart to put together. In fact, many of you have reached out in the past year, asking if we could make a choir happen - and now, we are doing exactly that! It’s been beautiful to witness this choir unite, and I believe it’s a picture of what the Church is meant to be: unique voices, each with their own story, blending into one sound. People who may not have known each other before, singing side by side to proclaim a message of hope.

That’s what “The King Has Come” is all about. It’s a chance to sing together and remember that we belong to something bigger than ourselves. We’re reminded that the message of Christmas isn’t distant or sentimental - it’s a living hope that meets us in real life, right where we are. Whether you’re walking through joy or grief, refreshment or fatigue, the story of Christ’s arrival meets us in the very places we need Him most. The songs we’ll be singing - some familiar, some new - proclaim this message: the story of a King who didn’t wait for us to reach Him, but came to us first.

We believe that this night is for everyone - your family, friends, neighbours, co-workers. It’s an opportunity to slow down, to pause, and to encounter the King of kings in a fresh way. Whether you’ve been part of our church for years or are joining us for the first time, we would love to share this evening with you.

Tickets are available on our website here, and we encourage you to reserve yours early. Come and be part of something beautiful - something that points us back to the miracle of Christmas.

The King has come, church. And we want to celebrate this timeless truth in a new way, together.
