The most important discipling event for the children of CLA is quickly approaching – Kid’s Camp 2025 – Race Ya! I want you, well more accurately, I NEED you to anticipate and participate as we prepare for 500 children to gather across our campuses during the weeks of July 14-18 (Langley), and 21-25 (Maple Ridge).
We need you to pray, because without the empowering of the Holy Spirit, our efforts are uninspired, fun as they might be. Pray for salvations among the children who will attend, and that transformation will extend into their family circles. Pray for our volunteers that welcome all the children. Pray over our preparations, that we would have creativity and energy. Will you pray?
We need you to give generously so that the work may be accomplished with excellence. A Camp Support – Kids designated fund has been created to expand our reach. As the Holy Spirit prompts you, your gift will be applied to sponsorships for children who wouldn’t be able to attend without outside funding; extension of summer staff hours; and the creative expression of our camp presentation. Will you give generously?
We need you to participate so that there is a wonderful team who can welcome the children. I can honestly say that camp is my favorite ministry time because of the holy moments we have with kids. Decisions for Jesus are made during camp, and I believe Jesus is calling our children to be disciples of his kingdom, to be leaders, and culture transformers now and in the future. Will you come and help?
Some weeks ago, during a lesson in Kids Church on “Jesus is our healer”, I shared that I had been praying for healing for my daughter for about two months (she had terrible mouth sores). I wanted them to understand that sometimes praying for healing is hard and includes waiting. But I also wanted them to understand that we are Christ’s body, the church, and we get to share our burdens together. I asked if they would help me by praying for Emma. They responded quickly, surrounding me and several prayed: “Heal Emma, take away the pain, help her to stop picking at her sores.” When I went home – Emma was happy. Happy means there wasn’t pain. On Monday she didn’t pick at her sores, allowing for healing to begin. And by the end of the week, the swelling had subsided, and she was healed! These children, our children, prayed, gave generously and participated.
This is why we do camp (and other things too of course), and why I love my work. Thank you CLA family for your love for CLA Kids. Kids Camp, is going to be fabulous!
