As we shared a few Sundays ago, Nathan Williams will be concluding his staff role at CLA this August as he and Breanne (our Middle School Pastor) prepare to move to Halifax for a new ministry opportunity.
Nathan has been part of the CLA family since he was 11 years old. He grew up through our youth ministry, served faithfully on worship teams, and over the years became a central leader in our Technical Arts department. For the past several years, Nathan has served as our Technical Director—overseeing production and av systems in Langley and assisting all of our campuses and congregations of CLA.
What many may not realize is just how much this role involves. Nathan has carried the responsibility for the behind-the-scenes infrastructure that supports our Sunday services, midweek ministries, special events, and online gatherings. From sound, lighting, video, and lives-treaming to recruiting and equipping a team of dedicated volunteers, Nathan’s work has helped empower the worship life of our church.
At CLA, gathering is one of our core priorities. We believe something sacred happens when we come together to worship, to hear the Word, and to encounter the Spirit—and Nathan’s leadership has been instrumental in making that a reality week after week. His commitment, calm presence, technical gifting, and leadership have allowed us to focus on the moment, not the mechanics (even when things don’t go as planned) and have been on the practical of see lives and stories changed within the life of our church.
Personally, I’ve known Nathan as not only an incredibly capable leader, but also as one of the most gifted musicians I’ve done ministry with. He’s inspired me in my own musicianship, and it’s been a joy to watch him grow in his leadership over these past years as our Technical Director.
As Nathan prepares to transition, we want to encourage you to take a moment to honour him. Say thank you when you see him. Let him know how his work has impacted you. He will be deeply missed, and yet we are full of excitement and hope as he and B step into this next season of life and ministry in Halifax. Great job! We’ll really miss having you on our team and our church!
Finally, would you join us in prayer as we begin the search for CLA’s next Technical Director? This is a vital role in the life of our church, and we are asking God for wisdom and clarity as we seek the right person to carry this mantle forward—someone who will continue to help us gather well across our campuses, with excellence and heart.
Nathan, thank you. You’ve given so much to this community, and we are deeply, deeply grateful.
