Job Purpose

To serve the ministries of Christian Life Assembly by performing assigned custodial, maintenance, and room setup duties.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift and move a minimum of 20 lbs for 15–20 minutes.
  • Able to lift and move up to 40 lbs for 1–2 minutes.
  • Not allergic or sensitive to sanitizing or cleaning chemicals.


Hours

This is a part-time role requiring a flexible schedule. Candidates must be open to working a variety of hours throughout the week, including evenings, weekends, and building lock-up.

Shifts may include:

  • Afternoon to lock-up (11pm–midnight)
  • Some morning shifts
  • Full-day weekend shifts
  • Mid-day shifts for special events

Primary Responsibilities

Performs tasks according to Shift Schedule Binder and duty sheets, including:

Room Setup & Equipment

  • Set up and take down rooms for events (tables, chairs, equipment).
  • Move/return equipment to proper locations, including AV items, TVs, overheads, check-in stations.


Caretaking / Housekeeping

  • Sweep, wash, and vacuum floors
  • Dusting and glass cleaning
  • Clean, sanitize, and restock bathrooms
  • Collect and dispose of garbage inside and outside the campus
  • Collect and dispose of recyclables (excluding personal office recyclables)
  • Clean Daycare and Preschool when required
  • Laundry of tablecloths and other items
  • Salt and shovel sidewalks as needed
  • Restock auditorium items and dispensers


Security

  • Provide access for ministry or business needs during/after hours
  • Patrol the building and report suspicious activity
  • Secure and lock down the facility
  • Emergency response
  • Act as Fire Marshal during shift (training provided)
  • First Aid Attendant
  • Follow power outage procedures


Communication

  • Report deficiencies, maintenance issues, and incomplete tasks verbally, via shift binder, and by email.


Special Assignments

  • Weddings, funerals, rentals (e.g., graduations)
  • Assist ministry teams and volunteers with facility-related needs
  • Fill and monitor the water baptismal tank as requested
  • May be required to support other CLA campuses or properties
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade 12
  • Related experience an asset
  • Preference may be given to applicants with Level 1 First Aid
