Christian Life Assembly (CLA) is seeking a part-time Service Producer to coordinate and execute the technical and creative elements of our Sunday services and special events at the Langley Campus. Reporting to the Technical Director, this role ensures all production elements—people, systems, and content—are aligned for a seamless, engaging, and spiritually impactful worship experience.

PURPOSE:
The Service Producer is responsible for coordinating and executing the technical and creative elements of worship services and special events. This part-time role ensures that all technical and creative elements are organized and executed with excellence. This role ensures that all aspects of production—people, systems, and content—are aligned and prepared to deliver seamless, engaging, and spiritually impactful experiences. Pastors and ministry leaders communicate directly with the Service Producer to request short-notice service changes as appropriate, which the Producer then implements and communicates to the production team. The Service Producer plays a key role in creating a smooth, engaging, and spiritually impactful worship experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Service Coordination

  • Serve as the central point of contact for Sunday service planning and updates.
  • Receive and organize service changes from pastors and ministry leaders as appropriate.
  • Communicate service plans, cues, and updates clearly to all production team members.
  • Lead pre-service run-throughs and ensure all elements are prepared and aligned.
  • Coordinate with the weekly speaker to prepare and finalize slides and media content.
  • Attend design meetings when possible to contribute to service planning and creative alignment.

Team Leadership

  • Schedule all technical positions for Sunday morning services, including audio, video, lighting, and stage crew.
  • Provide leadership and direction during services to ensure smooth execution and a positive team experience.
  • Support the Technical Director in recruiting, training, and developing volunteers, including students where appropriate.
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for new team members, fostering a sense of belonging and long-term engagement.
  • Share practical knowledge of technical systems used in Sunday services to equip volunteers for confident and effective service.

Technical & Creative Support

  • Coordinate the proper use of technical areas such as sound, lighting, and media for Sunday services.
  • Ensure all equipment is used appropriately, kept clean, and maintained in a safe working condition.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Director to ensure systems are ready and functioning.
  • Oversee media content preparation (slides, videos, graphics) for services when provided by other departments and teams.
  • Troubleshoot live service issues and escalate as needed.

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain service plans using Planning Center or other scheduling tools.
  • Document service flow and team assignments.
  • Prepare and publish weekly sermon recordings to online platforms in collaboration with the Communications Department.
  • Participate in post-service reviews and contribute to ongoing improvements.

  • Maintains knowledge and skill level to provide expert delivery of services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in live event or church service production an asset.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead volunteers and manage service logistics under pressure.
  • Familiarity with production tools (e.g., ProPresenter, Planning Center).
  • Committed to the mission and values of CLA Church.
