We’re looking for a friendly and organized receptionist to be the welcoming face of CLA, serving staff, congregants, and guests. This role includes greeting visitors, managing calls and emails, providing clerical support, and maintaining a tidy, hospitable environment.
Job Purpose
To be the “face” of Christ & CLA by serving all staff, congregations, and outside groups through assisting in practical ways and creating a gracious, welcoming, and godly atmosphere.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive and transfer all incoming calls, faxes, and emails (includes answering questions and addressing complaints) and maintain the phone voicemail message system.
- Greet and welcome all who walk through the CLA Centre doors and assist them as needed.
- Support ministries with clerical support such as:
- Tracking current and upcoming church activities
- Tracking staff absences, birthdays, etc.
- Coordinating weekly office supply orders
- Church database projects (e.g., first-time guest letters, baptism and child dedication certificates)
- Handling all incoming and outgoing mail, including Canada Post, couriers, and deliveries
- Assisting with mail-outs and other special projects
- Create and maintain a welcoming, tidy, and presentable workspace, ensuring necessary materials are accessible.
- Perform other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proven experience as a receptionist or in a related position
- Strong communication and people skills
- Customer service oriented
- Ability to maintain tact and diplomacy in all interactions
- Quick learner with the ability to operate standard office equipment
- Proficiency with MS Office programs
- Reasonable typing speed and accuracy
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities
- Ability to perform simple math calculations

Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of reception or administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training. Switchboard experience and business courses are considered an asset.
