We are looking for an energetic individual to join the Worship team at Langley Campus. This is a part-time position (30 hours per week). Responsibilities include assisting the Associate Pastor (Gather) by facilitating a climate of worship primarily during the Sunday morning gatherings.

Key functions involve assisting with the planning of services, coordinating volunteers in the worship department, and resourcing and scheduling key services and events.

The ideal candidate should be able to work independently, lead and work with teams, handle multiple tasks, have good written and verbal communications skills, problem-solve, as well as understand music arrangement, vocals, songwriting and recording, and appreciate and maintain a broad range of music styles.

Preference may be given to applicants with Bible school and musical training, who also have proven experience in leadership, supervision, and budget management.

Job Purpose:
To facilitate, in conjunction with the Associate Pastor, a climate of worship primarily during Sunday morning gatherings through worship leaders and musicians that are part of the musician community at CLA. A key function involves working with volunteers in musical development, resourcing and scheduling for key services and events as requested.

Position Summary:
The candidate in this part-time role will likely find their workload to be spent according to the following percentages:
Spiritual Instruction & Care = 40%, Ministry Focus = 40%, Human Administration = 20%.

Duties and Responsibilities: ‍

Develop, implement, and evaluate the strategic vision for the effective operation of the worship ministry in conjunction with the overall vision of CLA.
Provide leadership in all aspects of supervision including recruitment, orientation, motivation, and possibly termination of volunteers.
Develop and inspire the volunteer team to use of their musical gives in performing, writing and recording
Coordinate and oversee scheduled rehearsals and team with Gather Pastor.
Oversee the management of worship repertoire, working with key volunteers, staff and ministry assistant to ensure balanced, biblical, culturally fitting selection
Research, develop and implement initiatives in a cost effective, proactive manner to meet the needs of CLA and the department goals
Develop and implement strategies for communicating and promoting ministry services
Relate to all age groups including youth, families, and seniors
Prepares musicians and singers for regular services and special events as determined by MLT
Provide resources (i.e. charts/recordings) to musicians as needed to allow for preparation
Attend meetings and follow up on action items and ensure accountability of others within their area of responsibility
Oversight of creative recording projects, ensuring quality control of CLA brand
Working with direct supervisor to develop and oversee departmental goals, directives and budgets
Produce an annual budget and operate within the budget forecasts
Monitor revenues and approve expenditures
Performs all other duties as required

Qualifications:
Degree preferably in theology with major in music. Minimum of five (5) years of related experience, education and/or training. Ability to play various musical instruments. Previous leadership, supervisory and budget experience.
