Word from the Pastor

No One Alone

One of the sayings we have here at Rev Movement is “No One Alone”.

One of the sayings we have here at Rev Movement is “No One Alone”. We talk about how there is no version of following Jesus where we do it alone. God created us to be together, to be in community and to be the Church. We speak this into our students, our ministry and our volunteers often. We want every person who is part of our youth ministry to know that they are not alone, that they are loved, that God is with them and that we are a community that leaves no one out.

Ironic, because the pandemic forced us to be apart. In a Youth Ministry perspective, students were pulled out of school, not able to be with friends, youth moved online, sports and extracurriculars were shut down. For many students and maybe even for you, the words isolated or lonely are reality. As we exit the pandemic we need to grab onto the truth that there is no version of following Jesus where we do it alone.

Throughout the summer we have been meeting weekly with both our Middle School and High School students for services. These services have created space for students to encounter God, worship and be with friends. We have had a very meaningful season of ministry. 45 new students were connected to Rev and we had a successful transition of moving our Grade 5’s into Grade 6, where their youth ministry experience begins.

Early in the year the Rev team had to make the hard decision that Rev Camp would be cancelled for 2021. We quickly shifted to planning what is now known as Rev on the Weekend. August 19 - 21 we are filling the church with 150 students and 30 volunteers. We have also been able to sponsor 25 students for Rev on the Weekend. Thank you for investing into the lives of our students! To give towards sponsorship visit clachurch.com/giving and use the drop down link “Rev Camp Sponsorship”.

We are believing for encounters, salvations, baptisms and transformations to take place over the weekend. We believe that this is going to be a weekend where students will laugh, breathe and be together! Please be praying for us, our students, our ministry and this event.

Our youth team is also hard at work praying, planning and preparing for a fall season of youth ministry. We are excited to be going back to two separate services on Tuesday nights, one for Middle School and one for High School.   We will be re-launching 678 Sunday mornings - date to be announced. For info on our Sunday night programs Leadyoung and Student Serve, email bnewton@clachurch.com.

Remember - there is no version of following Jesus where we do it alone!
