Building a House of Prayer

A letter to CLA

1 Corinthians 12: 12-27 talks about the body being made up of different members (parts) but we are all one body and each one of us have a part to play in the body of Christ (the Church). One part we all have in God's kingdom, is to pray.

There are many areas in the church and beyond our walls that need prayer. In that, we are establishing prayer groups to pray, whether it is in-person, (following Covid guidelines), on the phone, by Zoom or you may want to pray on your own with a friend or family member.

We have started prayer walks in Langley and hope to start one in Maple Ridge. There is a team that meets once a week to pray for City Serve. A women’s group is praying for numerous things. Teams are praying for the Deliverance Ministry. There is a team that prays for Recovery Church. Others are praying for revival.

Maybe you are already involved in praying for specific ministries or would like to be part of a prayer group, please let us know. There is strength in numbers. The Bible talks about how one can put a thousand to flight and two can put ten thousand to flight.

The Prayer Covenant | Week of Prayer

CLA's 40 Day Challenge to start the year off right

As we kick off the year with our Week of Prayer, we want to challenge everyone to participate in the 40-day challenge to make a prayer covenant. We believe that mountains will move as we ask God to intervene in the process of transformation of our lives, our neighbourhoods, nation and world.

CLA PRAYER FOCUS FOR 2021

UNITY:

  • In the midst of cultural, racial, economic, political and social diversity may our church find unity in Christ and in mission. All 5 generations working together with respect and love.

LIFE GROUP MULTIPLICATION:

  • We desire all our adults to be part of a life-giving small group. It helps with fellowship, learning, prayer, and mission.

FAITH IN GOD:

  • That through prayer and scripture our people would have a revelation of God to increase their trust for God to overcome obstacles and fear.

EMOTIONAL HEALTH:

  • A soul stability that touches our relationships and life. Marked by deep relationship with Jesus, secure understanding of our Godly identity and being at peace with others.

HOMES:

  • Strengthening marriage, generational understanding and bringing healing to relationships. That our marriages and parenting would be Spirit-filled and a testimony to those around us.

Prayer At CLA

Prayer is at the centre of everything we do, from planning meetings to preparing messages. There are also specific times that are set aside specifically for groups to come together to pray. Anyone is welcome to join in.

Monthly Prayer & Fasting Team

Everything needs to start with prayer. Set aside one day a month (or portion of a day) to pray over the monthly CLA prayer guide and fast one or more meals that day. You will be assigned a day (ie the 15th day of each month) and will receive the prayer guide by email at the end of the previous month. Copies of the prayer guide will also be available at Guest Services. To join this team email Monica.
